1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PetTales™ (available at mypettalesbook.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These terms apply to all users of the service, including visitors, registered users, and customers.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account and use PetTales™. The storybooks we create are intended for children, but the service itself is operated by parents and guardians.

2. Description of Service

PetTales™ is an AI-powered service that creates personalized storybooks starring your pet. You provide your pet's details and photos, choose a theme and art style, and our AI generates a unique story with custom illustrations.

We offer storybooks in digital format (PDF) and as printed hardcover books. We also offer optional add-ons including personalized dedication pages and multi-book bundles. The specific features, pricing, and availability of our service may change over time.

3. Account Registration and Security

To use PetTales™, you must create an account using your email address or Google sign-in. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, please contact us immediately at [email protected].

4. Pricing and Payment

PetTales™ offers the following products:

• Free Preview — A complimentary preview of your storybook (limited pages with a cliffhanger ending).
• Digital Book — $17 for a full digital storybook (PDF download).
• Hardcover Book — From $44.99, includes a printed hardcover book shipped to your address.
• Dedication Page — $4.99 add-on for a personalized dedication page.
• Multi-book Bundles — Duo (2 books), Family (4 books), and Collection (6 books) packs with 8–25% savings.

All prices are in US dollars and may be updated from time to time. Current prices are always displayed before checkout. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By making a purchase, you authorize us to charge the payment method you provide.

Applicable taxes may be added at checkout based on your location.

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of the original photos and information you upload to PetTales™. By uploading content to PetTales™, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, display, and distribute your uploaded content — including pet photos, names, and descriptions — for any purpose related to operating, promoting, improving, and marketing PetTales™ and its services. This includes, but is not limited to, featuring your pet's photos and information on our website, in advertising and promotional materials, on social media, in email campaigns, and in any other marketing or business context.

This license applies to all content uploaded to PetTales™, including content uploaded prior to the most recent update of these Terms. By continuing to use PetTales™ or by maintaining an active account, you confirm that this license applies to all content you have previously uploaded as well as any content you upload in the future.

By using PetTales™, you represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to the content you upload and that granting this license does not violate any third party's rights.

Generated Content

All storybook text, illustrations, and other content generated by our AI ("Generated Content") are the property of PetTales™. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use your generated storybooks for personal, non-commercial purposes — including printing, sharing with family, and giving as gifts.

You may not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Generated Content. PetTales™ retains full rights to all Generated Content — including content generated prior to the most recent update of these Terms — and may use it for any purpose, including but not limited to displaying it on our website, in marketing and promotional materials, on social media, in advertisements, for product improvement and training, and in any other business context — without additional notice or compensation to you. The AI-generated nature of the content means that similar themes or visual styles may appear across different customers' storybooks.

PetTales™ Brand

The PetTales™ name, logo, and website design are our intellectual property. You may not use our branding without written permission.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use PetTales™ to:

• Submit custom story prompts that contain offensive, harmful, or inappropriate content.
• Upload photos that you do not have the right to use, or that depict illegal content.
• Attempt to generate content that is violent, sexually explicit, or discriminatory.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service, including attempting to bypass security measures or rate limits.
• Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or reproduce our service.

We reserve the right to refuse service and terminate accounts that violate this policy. Our AI systems include content safety measures, but they are not infallible.

7. Refunds and Cancellations

Our refund policy varies by product type. Digital products, physical products, and bundles each have specific terms.

8. Print Fulfillment

Hardcover books are printed and shipped by our third-party print fulfillment partner, Lulu. PetTales™ is not the manufacturer of physical products.

Estimated production time is 3–5 business days, plus shipping time which varies by destination. These are estimates, not guarantees — actual delivery times may vary depending on your location and shipping method.

Print quality is subject to professional printing standards. Colors and appearance may differ slightly between screen and print due to the nature of digital-to-print conversion.

9. SMS Text Message Notifications

PetTales offers optional SMS text message notifications for paid users. By providing your phone number and tapping “Text Me,” you consent to receive automated transactional text messages from PetTales (e.g., storybook-ready alerts, preview expiration reminders, and shipping updates). Message frequency is limited to a maximum of 5 messages per storybook order. Message and data rates may apply.

SMS notifications are entirely optional — you are never automatically enrolled. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. We do not send marketing or promotional messages via SMS.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PetTales™ and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to PetTales™ in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

PetTales™ is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

Specifically, we do not guarantee that:

• AI-generated illustrations will be an exact likeness of your pet. The AI creates artistic interpretations based on your photos.
• Story content will match your exact expectations. AI-generated stories are unique and creative, but outcomes may vary.
• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

We strive to deliver the best possible experience, and if you are unsatisfied with your storybook, please contact us — we want to make it right.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of PetTales™ shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first.

If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

13. Termination

You may stop using PetTales™ at any time. You can request account deletion by emailing [email protected].

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in prohibited activities, or if required by law. If we terminate your account, we will make reasonable efforts to allow you to download your existing storybooks before deletion.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and may notify you via email. Your continued use of PetTales™ after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Updated terms apply to all content previously uploaded to or generated by PetTales™, as well as any future content. By continuing to use PetTales™ or maintaining an active account after updated terms are posted, you agree that the updated terms govern all content associated with your account, regardless of when it was created.
